Progressive organizations are seeking ways for their employees to live healthier and more productive lives, both at home and at work. As a certified Weight Loss Consultant and Weight Loss Expert, the question I'm asked most frequently is: "What do I
need to eat to be healthy and to lose weight"?
That's a great question because the truth of it is that there is a whole lot of information and misinformation on the internet about this diet and that diet, and which food is good for you and which isn't, and it all seems to change every few months. It's really difficult to know how to improve or preserve health and lose weight. And then there's the question of making weight loss permanent. Statistically, 90% of persons who embark on diets gain all or most of the weight back. Those aren't good odds.
The true path to a healthy diet lies in some pretty basic eating principles. And healthy eating usually leads to weight loss. The key is to incorporate these principles consistently, as part of your everyday living, not for just for a couple of weeks of months until you shed the weight. Most persons need help and direction in figuring out what a healthy eating plan looks like and which foods support natural weight loss. For starters here are a few tips to get you pointed in the right direction:
Step 1: Eat whole foods (eliminate processed or beige/white foods)
Step 2: Increase your fruit and vegetable intake
Step 3: Incorporate healthy fats
Step 4: Limit starchy carbs and legumes
Step 5: Eat lean meat protein
Step 6: Cut sugar
